Hello, I accidentally lost a printed copy of your zigzag pattern last year and today, when I decided to clean up my computer links, I saw that I had saved your link and came to the webpage with your Black & White Fringed Ripple Afghan. I was so thankful I found it, and gave a donation on your website. :) A co-worker taught me to crochet when I was in my late teens. It was easy b/c she is right handed and I am left handed. I've been crocheting ever since. I'm 80 and retired now; I continue to make baby blankets for the local women's pregnancy center. They welcome unwed pregnant women and offer a free ultrasound and a gift basket of baby items including a baby blanket. Their services also extend to housing to them, life skills classes and assist them in budgeting their money - (a portion goes for their sustenance in the program; they also budget for a first month & security deposit for when they exit the program in two years. Curling means needs more increases. Waves means needs less increases. However, ripples and waves can be remedied with a long soak and dry -- which eliminates the frogging.

Thanks for coming up with these patterns! I think I like the last , tenth BShawl best! I have been coming across your BShawls and have been intrigued. I am planning on getting your BShawl book of patterns. Finding the stitch variations is what I like to see. I got an idea you may like to try. It would involve changing yarn colors within the pattern, even using color transitions yarns , all to create the real look of a butterfly's wings color spot areas and defining edges of a B wing like the color variations in real Butterfly wings. Im thinking of a Monarch B . All so that when one's arms are open , the realistic color patches of B wings are visible . Just an idea. My GDaughter would like a BShawl. So I am considering which pattern or design. Thanks for the possibilities!

I have a question regarding the number of stitches because of the chain 1s & the 'going into the same stitch again' after the first round I end up with 3 more stitches than I actually need. Is that normal & should I account for that in the original number of stitches, or am I doing something wrong?
